The funeral for Utah native Emilie Parker, one of 20 children killed at a Connecticut grade school Dec. 14, will begin Saturday at 10 a.m., and the LDS Church has made arrangements for it to be broadcast simultaneously at a nearby Mormon church building in Ogden to accommodate members of the public.

LDS Church spokesman Cody Craynor said the broadcast for the public will be at the Rock Cliff 6th Ward at 300 Gramercy Ave. in Ogden and can accommodate "several hundred" people.

Family members are encouraging the community to observe the funeral for 6-year-old Emilie at the 6th Ward site, allowing close friends and family to attend the service at the Rock Cliff Stake Center, 1000 Suncrest Drive (650 South). The family held a memorial for Emilie and all of the Sandy Hook victims Thursday evening at Ben Lomond High that drew hundreds of people.

LDS Church officials also said if anyone wants to line the funeral procession, it will begin at the stake center and work its way west on 700 South and turn north on Monroe Boulevard to Evergreen Memorial Park.

The Parker family is asking people who line the route to wear pink, Emilie's favorite color.

The public hasn't been invited to the graveside service, Craynor said.
