Police were on the lookout for a man who reacted to a Salt Lake City parking lot accident by pulling a handgun and firing at a fleeing pickup truck.
Salt Lake City police said the incident occurred just before 10 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store at 1157 W. California Ave.

The man was inside the convenience store shopping when the pickup backed into the car he had just parked in the lot. The man came out of the 7-Eleven, pulled the firearm and shot twice at the truck, which sped away.
No one was injured, but one of the bullets struck a nearby home. The man then reportedly re-entered the store, paid for his items and drove away in a silver sedan.
A few minutes later, though, the owner of the sedan returned to the store lot to talk with police. He told officers a friend had just borrowed his vehicle and they were looking for the friend in connection with the gunfire.
Police were searching for the man, whose identity they know but did not release.
