Tips to having a green Christmas • Santa isn't the only one with a naughty and nice list. Republic Services has published a page of holiday items that are categorized as either good or bad when it comes to recycling. On the "nice" list are gift and shoe boxes, tissue paper, holiday cards and envelopes, paper gift bags and gift wrap. Naughty no-nos include ribbon and bows, anything on the tree, sticky gift labels, laminated gift bags and coated, foam peanuts.

Winter day camp for kids • Boys and girls ages 5 to 12 are invited to participate in the Copperview Recreation Center's Winter Camp that runs Dec. 20-21 and 26-28 from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. The cost is $15 per day or $50 for all five days, and activities include swimming, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, games, crafts and more.
