Salt Lake City police say a fast food restaurant employee with an eye for firearms foiled an attempted holdup.
A man entered the McDonald’s at 1533 S. State St. about 8 p.m. Sunday and brandished what appeared to be a black semi-automatic handgun. However, the clerk saw it was really a plastic toy, and he told the suspect the jig was up.
