A 20-year-old man on a bike was struck and killed by a motorist in Tooele on Sunday night, police said.

The victim's name was not released Sunday. The accident happened about 7:15 p.m at the intersection of Pinehurst Avenue and Vine Street, Tooele police Lt. Adrian Day said.

A 70-year-old Tooele woman in a Honda Accord was driving south on Pinehurst. She stopped at a stop sign and was turning right onto Vine as she hit the bicyclist, Day said.

The intersection has only one streetlight and is not well lit, he said. Police are not sure which direction the bicyclist was traveling.

Emergency personnel pronounced the cyclist dead in an ambulance before arriving at a local hospital, Day said. The accident remains under investigation.
