South Salt Lake police are asking for the public's help identifying a bank robber.

The robber arrived at the US Bank at 2714 S. 300 West at 5 p.m. Thursday and handed the teller a note that demanded cash, according to police. The note added that he had a gun, though he never brandished a weapon during the robbery.

He left with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running west on 2700 South.

Police describe the suspect as male, possibly Polynesian, with a medium build between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches and weighting 180 pounds. He has a goatee, black hair pulled back in a pony tail and was wearing a black and white baseball cap, a white athletic warm-up jacket and blue denim pants.

If people have information on the suspect, police ask they call their dispatch at 801-840-4000. All calls are considered confidential and callers can remain anonymous.
