Police are investigating two crashes, one soon after the other Wednesday, started by a school bus rear-ending a Jeep.
The Jeep, going east on Highway 6 in Spanish Fork, reached the intersection with 2550 East and stopped as a yellow light turned to red, said Spanish Fork police Lt. Brandon Anderson. Shortly after, an Alpine School District bus full of children rear-ended the Jeep about 10:08 a.m.
No one on the bus was hurt, but the driver of the Jeep was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, Anderson said. The Nebo School District sent a bus to pick up the children, since the Alpine bus had to be towed from the scene.
While police handled the accident, a second crash occurred at the same intersection about 10:30 a.m. It appears a westbound driver, who was rubber necking at the sight of the first accident, rear-ended a second vehicle at the light, Anderson said. One driver from that crash was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police are still investigating both crashes.
