A 42-year-old man remained in critical condition but was improving Tuesday, the day after he was struck by a car in Holladay as he was doing a roadside check of his trailer.
The Sandy man had been listed in "extremely critical" condition at Intermountain Medical Center shortly after the 6:07 p.m. accident on Spring Lane, just east of 1300 East.

"I learned today that he’s improved. He’s still critical, but they expect him to make it now," Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said Tuesday.
The victim had pulled his SUV off the road to check unspecified problems with the small utility trailer he was hauling. While he was standing on the side of the dark, poorly-lit street, he was hit by an eastbound Subaru.
No citations were issued to the 25-year-old male driver, who was not injured in the crash. The accident remained under investigation, however.
"It was dark and it sounds like [the driver] just didn’t see him," Hoyal said.
