Two of three Alabama residents injured in a semi-trailer rig's crash on Highway 6 in Spanish Fork last week were upgraded to good condition on Monday.
Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said the driver, Jirden Mcinvale, 28, and passenger Christopher Odom, 39, were expected to be released soon from the hospital. However, another passenger, Laura Fannin, 26, remained in critical condition Monday.
Their big rig crashed Thursday at 10:28 a.m. on U.S. 6 just east of U.S. 89, near the Red Narrows area. Speed was believed to have been a factor. Johnson also said that no charges had been filed as investigators await results of blood tests.
The eastbound semi, hauling a load of apples, went over a concrete barrier wall and landed on railroad tracks. The occupants were not wearing seat belts and were ejected as the semi rolled.
