A 21-year-old man is recovering after his neighbor stabbed him in the chest with a pocketknife, according to Provo police.
Police arrested the suspect Friday night and booked him under suspicion of aggravated assault and possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person.
The victim and the 28-year-old neighbor argued earlier that day, and then they saw each other again in the breezeway of their apartment complex at 80 S. 900 East, Sgt. Brandon Post wrote in a news release. A fight ensued, and the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest, puncturing his left lung.
The victim managed to get away and call police. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
Police arrested the suspect, who got a cut on his hand during the fight, which required stitches.
During their investigation, police found a folding pocketknife with a four-inch blade, which they believe to be the weapon.
