Man arrested after making bomb threat in Utah police lobby

A 33-year-old man was arrested after apparently growing impatient at the Cottonwood Heights Police Department and calling in a bomb threat from the lobby.

According to a probable cause statement filed with the Salt Lake County jail, the man came to the police station on Wednesday asking for assistance. When officers did not respond as quickly as he thought they should, he picked up the telephone inside the lobby and called dispatch. He allegedly told dispatchers that he was in the police lobby and had a bomb.

When he was detained by police officers, he was searched, and no explosives were found on him. He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of second-degree felony terrorist threats to a governmental unit.
