Provo police have arrested a man who used a stun gun to make good his escape after shoplifting from a clothing store.
Provo police Sgt. Brandon Post said police, acting on information from their investigation, found the 28-year-old Lehi man hiding in the closet of an Orem apartment Thursday night. He was taken into custody and booked into Utah County Jail on suspicion of robbery and two counts of assault.
A man robbed the Gen-X store, 1334 N. State St., in Provo about 9 p.m. Thursday. As the man attempted to leave the business, he was confronted by several employees and was old police were on the way.
Post said the man pulled out a small stun gun and used it to shock two employees as he fled the scene.
Post said the stun gun believed used in the incident also was recovered when the man was arrested.
