A Taylorsville woman was in critical condition Thursday after an accident pinned her under her own vehicle.
The 38-year-old woman was driving east through the intersection of 4700 West and the Interstate 215 on-ramp when her black Ford Excursion was struck by a Toyota passenger car turning left onto I-215, said Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal. The Excursion ran into a light pole on the south side of the intersection and the woman was ejected, then somehow became pinned under her vehicle, Hoyal said.
It took fire and medical crews about 20 minutes to free the woman, who suffered internal injuries and was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition.
No one in the Toyota was hurt, Hoyal said.
Police are still investigating the crash.
