Charges are not expected against a 70-year-old woman who backed over an 86-year-old neighbor this past weekend, fatally injuring her.
Ogden police Lt. Danielle Croyle said Monday that investigators so far had no indication that Norma Holmgren's death Saturday morning was anything but a "horrible accident."
The two women were not only neighbors but friends, Croyle added.
Holmgren was struck about 10:30 a.m. Saturday as the driver was backing out of her driveway near 1600 East and 27th Street.
The driver, whose name was not released, called 911 when she realized Holmgren had been injured.
Holmgren was taken by ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital, where she died.
