A Salt Lake City man died Sunday when he crashed his vehicle in Park City.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said Paul A. Velo, 38, was driving north on State Road 224 near Silver Springs Drive about 1:45 a.m. when he lost control of his Volkswagen Passat as he approached a curve.

The vehicle went off the roadway and traveled some distance in the dirt before Velo attempted to get back on the road, troopers said.
At that point, the Passat went up an embankment and rolled.
Velo was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said the investigation is ongoing, but it appeared speed and driving under the influence may have contributed to the crash.
