Salt Lake City police were seeking the public's help in bringing to justice three men who robbed a newspaper carrier at gunpoint Sunday.

Sgt. Shawn Josephson said the gunman was described as a 5-foot-9 black male, last seen wearing dark clothing, a baseball cap and a blue bandana across his face.

The gunman was accompanied by two other males, for whom descriptions were not available, when they confronted a 56-year-old man delivering newspapers about 4:20 a.m. on Sunday. The incident took place at 1810 S. West Temple.

The gunman demanded the carrier's wallet and cell phone. The trio then fled the area on foot.

The carrier was not injured.
