Salt Lake City police detained several people for questioning Monday in connection with the early morning holdup of a man inside a taxi cab.
Sgt. Shawn Josephson said a 44-year-old man had called for a cab to pick him up at the Quality Inn, 1659 W. North Temple, about 3:30 a.m. The cab arrived and a moment later a woman and two men jumped into the vehicle, with one of them pulling a handgun.

The trio demanded the man’s wallet, cash and cell phone and then fled on foot.
Those being questioned were located in the area, but no arrests were immediately made.
"We’re still trying to determine what they know, whether they were involved or not," Josephson said.
