A woman who was shot by police in Hurricane after she allegedly stole a police car at gunpoint was booked into jail in Washington County.

Joann Boone was booked into jail on Saturday on her original arrest warrants. The booking does not include any violations connected to the suspected theft or police chase.

Boone had two no-bail arrest warrants for parole violations at the time of her Nov. 19 arrest in St. George. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Boone pointed a gun at a St. George police officer who was transporting her to jail and managed to steal the police car while still in handcuffs.

She then led multiple officers on a high speed chase to Hurricane, where she allegedly got out of the police car and tried to take over another car that was parked at a gas station. Police shot Boone, who still had the gun in her hands, according to Washington County authorities.
