A man and a woman escaped with minor injuries early Friday when their pickup truck crashed into a Davis County automobile dealership.

A Woods Cross police dispatcher confirmed that the crash, reported at 5:40 a.m. at the Bountiful Toyota dealership at 2380 S. 500 West, did not cause life-threatening injuries to either the female driver or a male passenger.

The couple were able to leave the scene on foot and go home, the dispatcher said. The woman was then taken to the hospital for treatment of bumps, scrapes and bruises.

Police arrived at the dealership to find the abandoned truck, which suffered heavy damage, as did part of the dealership's structure.

The cause of the crash was under investigation, though police were looking at the possibility that speed and alcohol may have been factors.
