Man critical after Weber County rollover

Investigators believe speed and alcohol may have factored into a Weber County rollover that left one man in critical condition on Thanksgiving Day.

A woman was driving a four-door sedan up Old Snowbasin Road into the mountains early Thursday when she lost control of the vehicle and it rolled near 5500 East, said Weber County Sheriff’s Cpl. Mark Horton. The accident was reported at 6:30 a.m.; it appears no one in the vehicle was wearing seat belts, Horton said.

One of the three passengers was ejected. The man was flown by helicopter to McKay-Dee Hospital Center in critical condition. The driver was taken to the same hospital in an ambulance, though she was released a few hours later.

The driver and her three passengers are all in their late 20s and from Ogden.
