Missing something? Salt Lake City cops may have it

Missing something? The Salt Lake City Police Department could have it in storage — but your time to claim it may be about to run out.

Every month, SLCPD destroys some of the items they have seized or have been turned in to make room for more. This time around, destruction is scheduled for Nov. 26.

Items on the list include: backpacks, purses, bags, clothing, sleeping bags, luggage, bedding, personal items and documents like Social Security and credit cards, wallets, keys, bikes, bike parts, MP3 players, DVDs and CDs, computers with equipment, knives, an air gun, firearms, a holster, home and car stereos, cellphones and chargers, hand and power tools, money, eyeglasses, jewelry, cameras, a golf bag, books, a typewriter, space heater, shredder, power cords, a paintball gun, files, a passport, binoculars, perfume, a hammock, scissors, hair clippers, a printer and various media devices.

If you believe that you may have an item in police custody contact the Evidence Unit at 801- 799-3041.
