The West Wendover, Nev., Police Department has identified the victim of a fatal ATV accident as a Fallon, Nev., man.
Police Sgt. David Wiskerchen said Friday that Cory McKnight, 31, died in the 1:30 p.m. Thursday accident on a dirt trail adjacent to Florence Way in West Wendover.
Officers responding to a 911 call found McKnight dead at the bottom of a ravine. It appeared McKnight had lost control of the ATV, which then went airborne as it plunged off the trail and crashed, ejecting its rider.
Wiskerchen said excessive speed appeared to have been a factor, but investigators had not yet determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
