When the officers were inside the home investigating, police said a man shot at them, and they returned fire while retreating, police said. Officers said they safely removed everyone from inside the home before the man barricaded himself inside.
The SWAT team was called when the man refused to come out. Police later entered the home and found the man dead inside. His cause of death and name weren’t immediately released.
The officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave, which is standard, while the Weber County Attorney’s Office investigates.
