A pair of videos posted on YouTube purportedly documents a fist fight inside a Provo fast food restaurant involving Brigham Young University football players.

One video shows the fight beginning in the dining area, when a man in a gray sweatshirt and a baseball cap punches another man with his left fist. The melee that ensues involves at least a dozen people, including some women. In the second video, the fight spills behind the counter and shows two men struggling on the ground as others try to pull them apart. Neither video has sound, so it's not clear what precipitated the first punch.

The videos, which were posted on Friday by Kyle Gashler, are time stamped at just before 3 a.m. on Nov. 1. Some of those involved in the fight appear to be wearing Halloween costumes.

It's not clear how Gashler obtained the video. The Salt Lake Tribune was not able to reach Gashler for comment on Saturday.

Provo's police department on Friday confirmed it is investigating reports of an alleged assault and altercation at a 24-hour Rancherito's restaurant which occurred at about 3 a.m. on Nov. 1 that involved BYU football players. Police have not identified the players or said how many players may be involved. It's not yet clear whether the investigation will result in any criminal charges, Provo Sgt. Brandon Post said.

On Thursday, BYU officials said senior safety Joe Sampson and sophomore linebacker Zac Stout had been suspended from the team for the remainder of the season for violating team rules, but provided no specifics. Both players have withdrawn from school.

Police have not confirmed whether Sampson or Stout are among the players under investigation.

Neither Sampson nor Stout responded to messages from the Tribune on Saturday.
