The commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, Brig. Gen. H. Brent Baker Sr., got a second star Friday in a ceremony at the Hill Aerospace Museum.
Baker said in a news release from Hill Air Force Base that he expects to keep commanding the complex for "the foreseeable future." It means, however, that he is a two-star general in a one-star general's job.
The complex was renamed and made a part of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma in July as part of an Air Force reorganization designed to save money.
Baker, already tapped for a second star, came from the Air Force Global Logistics Support Center in Illinois to run the newly organized complex, replacing Maj. Gen. Andrew Busch.
The Utah delegation secured a promise that the complex would be managed by a one-star general but had been pressing for a two-star general.
Baker's promotion on Friday was administered by Lt. Gen. Bruce A. Litchfield, commander of the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker.
"I look forward to that continued service leading the dedicated and hard-working men and women in the complex," Baker said, according to the HAFB news release.
He entered the Air Force in 1979 as an enlisted member and was commissioned in 1985 through Officer Training School after graduating from Southern Illinois University. Before his present assignment, Baker was commander at Air Force Global Logistics Support Center at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois.
