A mechanical issue on a Utah Transit Authority TRAX train caused system-wide delays Thursday afternoon.

UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter said just after 4 p.m. Thursday that a TRAX car was stuck on the track near 900 South, causing the system to run on one track.

The move to a one-track route meant the trains had to alternate, causing about 10 minute delays to all three lines.

But most of the delays were cleared by 4:45 p.m.
