A Provo man has been charged with exposing himself to a 5-year-old girl at a South Salt Lake building that houses a public library and charter school.
Robert Peter Ritt, 72, of Provo, was charged Wednesday in 3rd District Court with lewdness involving a child, a third-degree felony. Authorities enhanced the charge because Ritt has a prior child lewdness conviction in 4th District Court.

South Salt Lake police said after Ritt exposed himself to the girl Nov. 2 at the Columbus Center (2450 S. 500 East), she ran and told her parents what had happened. They called police about the incident, which was captured on surveillance video.
Police said Ritt returned to the center two times Nov. 3.
He was captured Sunday when he returned to the building a fourth time.
Ritt’s initial court appearance is set for Tuesday.
