Cattlemen were expected to ride the range in Logan Canyon on Thursday to try to round up some AWOL cows that made a bid for freedom following a crash in which 25 animals died.
Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said a truck driver took a turn too fast near mile post 477 in Logan Canyon on Wednesday night, flipping the truck, which was towing a trailer carrying 39 cows.

Johnson said 25 cows died in the crash. Other cows ran off.
He said the road was closed for about six hours Wednesday as volunteers helped authorities extricate the carcasses from the wreckage.
There were no reports of serious injury to the driver.
