A new shuttle service, dubbed the B-Line, now connects three of Salt Lake Community College's far-flung campuses, serving one of Utah's largest student bodies. The free hourly service runs between the college's South City, Meadowbrook and Taylorsville-Redwood campuses while classes are in session. Riders must provide SLCC identification to board.
Officials hope the service will alleviate some of the problems associated with students' and faculty's reliance on vehicles.
"Our parking lots have been challenging, if not dangerous at times as frantic folks compete for space," President Cynthia Bio-teau wrote to SLCC employees. "The B-Line provides a relaxed and 'greener' approach to connecting across these campuses."
The shuttle leaves South City Campus's east entrance on the hour beginning at 7 a.m. on weekdays, running to the Meadowbrook TRAX station, then to the UTA bus stop on the north side of the Taylorsville Redwood campus. Shuttles run until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and until 2 p.m. on Fridays.
