Two teens injured in shooting in Salt Lake City
Bullets struck two teenagers behind a coffee shop Sunday night in Salt Lake City.
The teens are expected to survive. A 17-year-old girl received a gunshot wound to her cheek and another to her upper body. An 18-year-old man received a gunshot wound to his upper arm.
Salt Lake City police Lt. Carl Merino said both teens were sitting in a car behind a coffee shop at 602 E. 2100 South. Another car was in the parking lot, too. Merino said he did not know what went on between the people in both cars, but someone fired at the teenagers about 8:20 p.m.
The teens drove their car to a Shell gas station one block west and called for help. Merino said the teens went to separate hospitals.
Merino did not have a description of the suspects or their car.
