Your town in brief: H.E.A.T. applications now being accepted

New county offices • A ribbon cutting will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the new Davis County Administration Building, 61 S. Main St. The event will include tours of the building and the adjoining county library headquarters.

Roy

Emergency care • Davis Hospital and Medical Center will hold a ground-breaking ceremony at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, on a freestanding emergency department at 3451 W. 5600 South. The Layton-based hospital says the $11.4 million project will open early next summer.

Keep warm this winter • Home Energy Assistance Target (H.E.A.T.) applications are being accepted through April 2013 or until funds are exhausted. H.E.A.T. uses federal funds to help families that earn below 150 percent of the poverty level pay for home heating, cooling and other energy costs.
