Keep warm this winter • Home Energy Assistance Target (H.E.A.T.) applications are being accepted through April or until funds are exhausted. H.E.A.T. uses federal funds to help families that earn below 150 percent of the poverty level pay for home heating, cooling and other energy costs. Taylorsville

Help chart the city's course • A strategic planning meeting to discuss priorities for 2013 will be held 8 a.m. to noon Saturday at City Council chambers, 2600 W. Taylorsville Blvd. (5325 South).

Harmonious entertainment • Vocal Point, a nine-man a cappella group from BYU and NBC's "The Sing-Off," will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at Taylorsville High School, 5225 S. Redwood Road. Tickets are $10 standard and $15 premium.
