Provo police have arrested a suspect in a string of storage-shed burglaries.
Police Chief Rick Gregory said five storage units were broken into Oct. 30 at a facility near 1600 S. State St. Tools and stereo equipment worth an estimated $10,000 were taken.
Officers quickly identified a 20-year-old Provo man as their suspect. Police obtained a search warrant, and the next day they raided his residence, less than a block from the storage lot.
The search recovered the stolen items, most of which have since been returned to their owners. The man who had been arrested twice in the past three months on charges of disorderly conduct and driving on a suspended driver license remained in Utah County Jail Friday in lieu of $5,000 bail. He is being held on suspicion of burglary and possession of stolen property.
"This quick arrest was the result of the proactive efforts of our patrol and Special Enforcement Team officers and their aggressive pursuit of justice," Gregory said.
