A 67-year-old North Logan woman was killed Thursday afternoon when a car she was a passenger in ran a red light and was struck in a Logan intersection, police said.
Police reported that a Chrysler Sebring was traveling west on 1400 North at about 2:15 p.m. while a Chevrolet Malibu was traveling north on 200 East. The Malibu reportedly ran a red light and entered the intersection just before the Sebring hit it on the passenger’s side.

Nancy Thirot, who was sitting in the Malibu’s passenger seat, was taken to Logan Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A 76-year-old woman who was driving the Malibu, Norma Christiansen, was also taken to the hospital for treatment. Donna Bergner, the 78-year-old woman who was driving the other car, suffered minor injuries.
Logan police Capt. Jeff Curtis said Thursday evening that no citations had been issued and that the crash was still under investigation.
