A 51-year-old roofer died Thursday morning after he fell through a sky light atop a Salt Lake City warehouse building.

Salt Lake City Fire Department spokesman Jasen Asay said the identity of the victim was being withheld pending notification of family.

Asay said emergency responders were called to the scene, at 4521 W. 1980 South, just about 7:40 a.m.

They found the man dead inside the warehouse after having fallen about 30 feet to the floor. He had suffered severe head injuries.

Asay said the man was among several workers repairing the structure's roofing. No other injuries were reported.
