First Published Oct 29 2012 12:32 pm • Last Updated Oct 29 2012 03:17 pm

Police say a masked gunman forced his way into downtown Salt Lake City home and stole a woman’s small household safe.

The break-in occurred just before 11 p.m. Saturday when the suspect — described as 5-foot-8, medium build and wearing a blue jacket, blue sneakers and carrying a blue backpack — brandished a handgun, took the safe and fled on foot.
