A deer hunter who accidently shot himself in the chest remained in critical condition on Monday.
Box Elder County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Potter identified the man as 53-year-old Jonathon Pettit, of Roy.

Investigators said that Pettit was getting a black powder rifle from the backseat of his truck on Sunday morning when the gun discharged, hitting him in the upper right chest.
The man drove himself to an area south of Snowville, near the Utah-Idaho border, where he called 911 for help.
An ambulance took him to an Ogden hospital, where his vital signs later were reported to have been stabilized.
