A woman was in critical condition Thursday after she crashed into the side of a semi-truck.
The 53-year-old woman turned off Interstate 15 onto the 5300 South exit at a high rate of speed, went off the road, hit a culvert and flew about 20 feet, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Her 2005 white Toyota 4Runner then went across all the eastbound lanes of 5300 South until it crashed into a semi-truck, hauling ash in a belly dump, at 3:13 p.m.

The 4Runner was wedged under the belly dump, and it took rescuers almost 90 minutes to get her out.
The woman was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in critical condition, but is expected to survive. Her passengers, another woman and two children, were also taken to IMC in fair condition with minor injuries.
