Utah's late-week weather picture, as Humbert Wolfe might forecast it: "The air is wild with leaves, We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!"
Northern Utah's evenings are indeed turning chilly, with overnight temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s predicted Friday after a daytime high in the mid-60s to low-70s.
Southern Utahns won't need to don their light jackets, yet: Friday's highs are forecast to be near 80 degrees, while overnight lows will be in the low- to mid-50s.
The exception will be southeastern Utah, where a corner of land from Blanding to Bluff was under a free warning.
Throughout the state, skies are predicted to be clear and sunny. Air quality has garnered a "Green," or healthy grade throughout Utah, according to the Division of Air Quality.
Salt Lake City's high Friday is to hit 72 degrees, up from Thursday's forecast for 65; Ogden looks for 69 and 63 degrees, respectively; Provo 73 and 67; Logan 66 and 63; Wendover 65 and 61; Duchesne 70 and 63; Cedar City 76 and 71; St. George 83 and 81; and Moab 73 and 67 degrees.
