Police have recovered thousands of dollars worth of rings taken in a December 2011 jewelry store robbery.
Prosecutors filed charges Wednesday against a woman who allegedly had the jewelry, worth more than $6,000, in a safe at her West Jordan home. The 24-year-old admitted to a Utah County Major Crimes Task Force officer that she was "pretty sure" the rings were stolen, according to charges filed in 3rd District Court.

She wasn’t charged in the robbery, which happened at the Sierra-West Jeweler store in Murray. Wearing gloves and masks that covered all but their eyes, two robbers forced the manager and employee to the back of the store at gunpoint. They forced a manager to open the safe, stole the jewelry inside along with cash from the till, then moved to the front of the store, where they smashed two glass jewelry cabinets and stole the contents before fleeing.
It was the second of two robberies that police believe are related, the first of which happened at Provo’s Losee Jewelry store in November 2011. In that case, robbers tied up employees and stole a car as well as jewelry and surveillance footage.
Provo police stopped short of calling those men professionals but said the robbers "were very good at what they did."
The woman was charged with one count of theft by deception, a second-degree felony.
