Cottonwood Heights police are looking for a bank robber who claimed he was armed with a gun and a bomb.
Police Sgt. Scott Peck said Bank of the West employees spotted the man pacing back and forth outside the bank about 8:55 a.m., about five minutes before it was scheduled to open.

When the tellers opened the bank, located about 6800 S. Highland Drive, the man came in and presented tellers a note demanding cash that stated he was armed with a gun and a bomb, Peck said. The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the man fled.
No one was injured.
Peck said police don’t have any reason to believe the man actually had a bomb.
The robber is described as white, about 5-foot-10 with a thin build and wearing a green hoody that covered his face. He wore dark glasses, rubber gloves and didn’t speak inside the bank, Peck said.
