Think E.E. Cummings for Utah’s Tuesday forecast, one where a wind will blow the rain away and blow the sky away and all the leaves away, and the trees stand.
And that prediction is not all existential poetic metaphor. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for northwestern, northeastern and central Utah Tuesday late afternoon through Wednesday morning. Winds of 30-40 mph, with gusts beyond 50 mph, were expected as a cold front embraced the region.
High temperatures Tuesday for northern Utah will be in the mid-60s with a 20 percent chance of rain by nightfall. Overnight lows will be in the low-40s.
Southern Utahns look for highs in the low- to mid-80s Tuesday, with overnight lows in the upper-50s.
The Utah Division of Air Quality is flying its "Green," or healthy breathability flags statewide.
Salt Lake City expects a high temperature Tuesday of 69, down 2 degrees from Monday’s forecast; Ogden looks for 68 and 69 degrees, respectively; Provo 71 and 72; Logan 63 and 67; Wendover 68s; Duchesne 71 and 67; Cedar City 75 and 72; St. George 85 and 83; and Moab 79 and 75 degrees.
