The National Weather Service predicts mostly cloudy skies on Thursday along the Wasatch Front following Wednesday’s forecast for comparatively sunnier and bluer skies. High temperatures were expected to be in the mid- to upper-70s, while overnight lows will dip into the upper-40s.
Southern Utahns will have mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of rain showers. Highs will be in the low-80s and nighttime temperatures in the mid-50s.
Beginning Friday, northern Utah will see a dramatic change. Rain is likely with highs retreating to the mid-60s and lows in the mid-40s as winds from the northwest move the region toward more typical fall weather. Southern Utahns, too, will see an increase chance for rainfall with highs in the mid-60 and lows in the upper-40s.
Air quality statewide was rated "Green," or healthy, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.
Salt Lake City looked to a 78-degree high Thursday, same as Wednesday’s forecast; Ogden was pegged for a 75 high on Thursday, up 2 degrees from Wednesday; Provo expected 79 and 78, respectively; Logan 76 and 74; Wendover 73s; Duchesne 70 and 71; Cedar City 72s; St. George 79 and 82; and Moab 81 and 79 degrees.
