A 20-year-old West Jordan woman died Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Bangerter Highway.
West Valley police Lt. Bill Merritt said Yesica Umana-Moreno was northbound about 5:55 a.m. near 2350 South when she crossed into the southbound lanes of travel and struck the side of a tractor-trailer.

She was transported to Intermountain Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Merritt said police aren’t sure why she went into the southbound lanes of traffic but said the road curves in the spot where the crash occurred, and it appeared her vehicle may have failed to navigate the curve.
The driver of the truck was not injured; police said he did nothing wrong.
