Utah ex-con starts college scholarship for kids of inmates • Karl Winsness spent nearly two decades in prison, leaving behind two daughters who struggled in his absence. To right his wrongs, Winsness has created the "Willy the Plumber Scholarship" for college-bound children of incarcerated parents, awarding $1,000 and $500 scholarships every year starting in 2013.
Salt Lake police raid wrong home, point gun at elderly woman • Narcotics detectives in Salt Lake City used a battering ram Wednesday to knock down a door and execute a search warrant on the wrong house, frightening the home’s 76-year-old resident.
