Police are on the lookout for two 16-year-old boys who ran away from a Draper juvenile work camp.
The teens ran from the Genesis Work Camp at 14178 S. Pony Express Road in Draper about 3 p.m. Friday, where they had been staying, said Liz Sollis, spokeswoman for the camp. The teens were working off their court-ordered restitution at the camp, which has low security, Sollis said.
Camp employees immediately contacted the police when they realized the teens had runaway. If the teens are found, they’ll be taken to juvenile detention instead of back to Genesis, Sollis said.
Sollis expressed her concern for the boys safety, especially overnight. The National Weather Service forecasted the lows in Draper to reach 33 degrees.
The camp is withholding the boys’ names and descriptions since they are juveniles and are not considered public safety risks.
Anyone with information of the teens’ whereabouts is asked to call local law enforcement.
