Sundance Resort began lifting 14 towers into place by helicopter Friday for a new lift.

The new fixed-grip quad lift, which has yet to be named, will give skiers direct access to both the front and back of the mountain from the parking lot, reducing the amount of time it takes for them to start skiing, according to resort officials.

The lift is scheduled to be operational Dec. 7.
