Wildfire burns near Cedar City
Firefighters braced for difficult weather conditions as a wildfire burned about 100 acres near Cedar City on Monday evening.
The Roundabout Fire was reported 4:20 p.m. Monday about 20 miles northwest of Cedar City, according to a press statement by state fire officials. Crews reached the fire about two hours later but left at dark because the terrain is too dangerous for nighttime work.
With forecasts of wind gusts up to 40 mph, fire managers ordered two bulldozers and a crew of 20 for Tuesday.
No structures were threatened and no roads were closed as of Monday night.
