Two Salt Lake City police officers on motorcycles were involved in a traffic accident at 400 South and 400 West in Salt Lake City about 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Salt Lake City Police Department Chief Chris Burbank said the officers were heading westbound on 400 South, clearing the intersection at 400 West for a fire department vehicle responding to a call.

A woman driving north on 400 West, who said she didn't see the officers, hit them. Burbank said the officers suffered minor injuries consisting of "aches, pains and scrapes," and were transported to a hospital.

"Right now it looks like an accident," Burbank said Tuesday afternoon.
