A 7-Eleven clerk who pulled a gun on a customer and beat him over the head after a fight over buying beer has been sentenced to 10 days in jail.

Police have said Dushyantkuma Jaiswal, 46, argued with the two customers last August when they tried to buy beer from the store at 960 W. North Temple, but didn't have any identification. According to court documents, Jaiswal began yelling that "they don't serve his kind," and came around the counter holding a gun.

The men left the store and, according to the charges, Jaiswal followed them to their car where he hit one man in the head with the gun. Jaiswal started "waving the gun in the air saying he would shoot everyone and pointed the gun directly" at one man's face, court documents state.

Jaiswal, who was originally charged in 3rd District Court with three felony assault counts, pleaded guilty earlier this month to a single misdemeanor count of attempted aggravated assault.
